Does it cost anything?
Using Durance on your phone is free, with no ads. Syncing your counters across devices, and the web app, are a subscription: US$4.99 a month after a 14-day free trial. Cancel any time.
How does the free trial work?
When you turn on sync, or open the web app, you start a 14-day free trial. Cancel before it ends and you are not charged. Otherwise it continues at US$4.99 a month until you cancel. Each person gets one free trial.
Do I need to sign up?
Not on your phone. Counters start on your device and stay there until you sign in — sign in only if you want them on more than one device. The web app at use.durance.app does need an account.
Is my data private?
Yes. On your phone, nothing leaves your device until you sign in. There is no sharing feature — your counters are yours alone.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, any time. Open Account in the app or on the web and choose Delete account. It permanently removes your account and every counter saved to it. If you subscribe, cancel your subscription first so you are not billed again.
Which platforms does it support?
iOS and Android, each with a native home screen widget, plus a web app at use.durance.app (widgets are phone-only).
What happens to a widget if I delete the counter it shows?
It keeps showing its last known number until you point it at a different counter.
Can I change a counter from counting up to counting down?
Yes, any time, from the edit screen.
